Quick one today, because the data speaks for itself.

I just published The Mid-Career Crunch, a 2026 industry report on what's actually happening to experienced professionals in this labor market. Every number comes from government and non-commercial sources: BLS, Pew, Gallup, and AARP. No vendor studies, no marketing surveys.

Three findings that really stand out:

Seven years. That's the median tenure for workers ages 45 to 54, and it's exactly where mastery, comfort, and market shifts collide. It's also down from 7.9 years a decade ago.

Three out of four. Of the 2.6 million long-tenured workers displaced between 2021 and 2023, roughly 3 in 4 lost their jobs because the position was eliminated or the company closed. Not performance. Structure.

Half the workforce. 51% of U.S. employees are watching for or actively seeking their next opportunity. If you've been quietly wondering, you have a lot of company.

The report covers the what, why, where, and when of mid-career transition. The how is deliberately not in there, because the how is personal.

I work with Directors and VPs who are rethinking what the next 15 years of their career should look like. If that's you, book a complimentary intro call, we'll figure out quickly whether this is a fit.
